Darren discovered the great taste of coffee while working as a server in San Francisco. While at Kuletos, a premium five star restaurant, he became friends with a master roaster who introduced him to the complexities of the coffee world. In 1994 he returned to the East Coast, and with the aid and inspiration of his brother Sean, began developing the now famous Pierce Brothers Gourmet Coffee business.

All of our coffee is 100% Fair Trade and organic and roasted right here in western Mass.

We only purchase beans from small farmers and cooperatives, largely made up of indigenous peoples working hard to maintain their culture and lifestyles in a hostile world. 100% of our coffee is Fair Trade, organic and kosher. 

We are an independent artisan roaster dedicated to the enjoyment of coffee through the preservation of the traditional art of coffee roasting and a fanatical quest for quality from origin to roast to cup.
