The Old Creamery is a small country store cultivating a big vision. We want to make the world a more just, loving, and environmentally sustainable place, starting in our own neighborhood, through the vehicle of a vibrant, community-oriented retail store. We are well on our way to converting the Old Creamery to a community owned cooperative and expect to complete this transition in late 2011.

When you walk through the door you will notice that we offer a plentiful menu of delicious, quality, homemade deli and bakery foods; abundant fresh produce; an amazing array of carefully selected local, artisinal, specialty, and bulk food items, as well as your everyday staples at competitive prices.

Our customers have often told us that they can feel the heartbeat of The Old Creamery. We believe that feeling is the invisible but tangible influence of our community values expressed through our practices. We hope that when you visit you will feel that you are in a place where kindness is a more powerful currency than money. A place where connecting and caring for people is more important than selling stuff.

Our Farmers

All the meats in our freezer are sourced from small farms that treat their animals well and raise them in an environmentally sustainably manner. Most of our meats are local. We have a variety of sausages, grass fed beef, pork, lamb, and chicken from the following care-full farmers

Wheelview Farm

Splendorview Farm

Holiday Farm

Misty Knoll Farm (Southern Vt.)

Upland Meadow Farm

In addition, we have cultivated seasonal relationships with many local farms in the Hilltowns, Berkshires, Pioneer Valley, and Southern Vermont. We purchase as much locally grown and organically grown produce as we possibly can. When local is not available, we purchase the remainder of our produce, 6 days a week, from privately-owned produce vendors who are also committed to promoting our local economies. They are our partners in offering you the highest quality produce at competitive prices.

We consistently stock all the produce staple ingredients you may need, and rotate in more unusual vegetables and fruits to keep us all interested and inspired. We bag much of our produce in compostable cellophane bags produced from sustainably grown cellulose.
