We know real stone because we eat, sleep and breathe it. Passion? You bet, it just doesn't get any better than the real thing! Maybe people like natural stone products because of their nature - they are nature and they have that variety that is a spice of life. I believe natural stone can help ground us after a stressful day in this modern world - there's nothing like reconnecting with our mother earth. Also, no two pieces are the same. Natural stone will always have something to say and is a piece of living history and not made by a machine. As I heard Micky Hart say, "we live on a blue and green spinning rock." Natural stone is relatively minimally processed so it has a low carbon footprint which is what green, sustainable building is all about.

But there must be some use for that 'expensive formica' right? - OK - with the faux stone you can get the cool color of the month that works well in modern design looking for background. And you can put it on a bar or kitchen with little to no etching - so sometimes it wins there too, but, that's it my friends. As an analogy, what looks more beautiful a plastic doll or a real baby? Faux stone costs more, fades in the sun, melts under pots over 300 degrees, actually catches on fire (I can light it with the flame of MAPP gas) read: TOXIC 911; Engineered 'stone' isn't recommended for floors and can't be used outside as it won't stand up to the UV and the weather.

Natural stone is proven through the centuries all over the world to stand the test of time... what else can I say?!
