0% Farm Share Loan from UmassFive College Federal Credit Union

This special no interest loan offers our members the ability to finance an individual share at any local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm and spread their payments over six months. An enrollment/renewal form from their farm of choice is needed at the time of request. UMassFive will then pay the farms up-front in full. There is no cost to farms or members to participate in this program.

The Beauty of a Local, Living Economy

While, this local, living economy happens to be in Oregon, I believe Brian's words about the Japanese Forest House he built can speak to people anywhere.

If a Picture is Worth a Thousand words, Then a Video is Worth a Million.

An engaging short video about your work or business will:

-foster an emotional connection with a potential customer better than a photo or text.

-provoke people to take action.

-educate.

-produce higher SEO results for your business and professional profile.

-drive an idea or campaign faster and more effectively than word of mouth.

-showcase your ingenuity and integrity.

-continue to work for you while you sleep, thanks to a 24/7 internet.

Recycle Your Used Cooking Oil Locally and Support Our Local Economy

Food service providers who care about the local economy and local environment are choosing ReEnergizer to recycle their used cooking oil. Unlike rendering companies that mix the vegetable oil with animal carcasses to make food for livestock and pets, we only replace fossil fuels with the oil we collect. The refined vegetable oil is used as renewable fuel for diesel engines and heating systems. Choosing ReEnergizer helps significantly reduce the causes of global warming.

Open House Weekend at The Farm Table!

Look around you. The candlelit spaces, open-hearth oven, and comforting fireplaces speak wordlessly of a quieter, simpler time in New England history. Our menu similarly speaks of a better time in culinary history. Created by executive chef Brent Menke and featuring internationally-nuanced New American cuisine, a meal taken here is truly an experience to remember. Virtually every item we serve is sourced from our very own organic farm as well as growers within a 50-mile - and in some cases, 50 foot - radius of The Farm Table.

WHAT ARE LIGHTNING TALKS?

Does Local Firm Ownership Matter?

A data set for U.S. counties that includes residence status of firm owners is used to assess whether per capita density of locally owned businesses affects local economic growth, compared with nonlocal ownership. The database also permits stratification of firms across different employment size categories.
