Our 2014/2015 local business guide is now out. Thousands of copies have already been distributed through The Recorder and the Daily Hampshire Gazette. Be sure to find a copy and hold on to it and use it to help find great local, independent businesses in the 3 counties of Western Mass. We will soon be announcing a contest with some great prizes, but you can only have fun and WIN if you have, read and use our Local Business Guide. The PDF of our current guide is now able to be downloaded through this website. Thanks for thinking local first.
Here in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts we are blessed with great natural beauty and a vibrant local, living economy made up of independent businesses, wonderful family farms, educational institutions and active community organizations. It's a rich and diverse culture and one that Pioneer Valley Local First is dedicated to protecting and strengthening.
Since 2001 our mission is to encourage people to Think Local First so that they Buy and Bank Local First. Additionally, we encourage and support companies to be more socially, locally and environmentally responsible. We do this by showcasing great local companies and educating and encouraging Pioneer Valley citizens, community organizations, businesses and local governments about the benefits of doing business with locally owned, independent businesses.
We're a founding network of Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE), and a proud member of the American Independent Business Alliance (AMIBA), two organizations that are leading the living economy movement with over 150 combined Networks throughout North America.
